Leave the A1 at Scotch Corner and head West on the A66 in the direction
of Brough . Continue on the A66 and go straight across the 3 roundabouts
on the outskirts of Penrith, in the direction of Keswick.
OR
Leave the M6 at junction 40 and head west on the A66 in the direction
of Keswick. After approx 17 miles you will come to a roundabout called
Crosthwaite Roundabout, take the right turn at this roundabout on the
A159 in the direction of Carlisle.
Crookelty Farmhouse & Crookelty Byre After 1 mile on the A591
you will see Crookelty Farmhouse and Byre on your left. The access road
is just after the humpback bridge, immediately after the farmhouse.
Chestnut Cottage
After 1 mile on the A591 you will see a small signpost for Millbeck
on the right hand side (opposite a white farmhouse). Take this right
turn and head up the road for ¼ mile, turn left at the give way sign
and head up the hill for about 500 metres. You will see Chestnut Cottage
on your right.
Please note - at no point do you need to go into Keswick, ignore the turn off for Keswick on the A66.
